The ISSBAT Antimicrobial Database Network
ANTIPSEUDOBASE is one node of a coordinated family of curated databases developed at ISSBAT (University of Tunis El Manar) to support antimicrobial and natural-product discovery. Each database targets a distinct pathogen or biological resource, and together they form an integrated platform for cross-referencing antimicrobial agents.
One mission, four complementary resources
From a single critical pathogen to the full ESKAPE panel, from marine biomolecules to staphylococcal agents — these databases share a common design philosophy, a unified curation standard, and the same goal: accelerating the discovery of new antimicrobials in the era of resistance.
ANTIPSEUDOBASE
Antimicrobial peptides and plant essential oils active against P. aeruginosa, with sequence, physicochemical and literature data. The focused entry point for anti-Pseudomonas agent discovery.
AntiESKAPE db
The broader companion of ANTIPSEUDOBASE: antimicrobial peptides, natural products, synthetic compounds and antibiotics against the six ESKAPE pathogens (Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, Klebsiella, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Enterobacter). Where ANTIPSEUDOBASE drills down on one pathogen, AntiESKAPE db scales the same logic to the whole critical panel.
MED-ALGAE-BIOMOL
A resource-centred database of Mediterranean marine algae and the bioactive secondary metabolites and peptides derived from them. It supplies ANTIPSEUDOBASE and AntiESKAPE db with a natural-product discovery pipeline: marine organisms are a prime source of novel antimicrobial leads.
AntiStaphyBase
The forthcoming companion focused on Staphylococcus aureus, including MRSA. Built on the same model as ANTIPSEUDOBASE, it will complete the single-pathogen pair (Gram-negative Pseudomonas / Gram-positive Staphylococcus) and connect back to AntiESKAPE db.
How the databases connect
A peptide or compound active against one pathogen is often a candidate against others. The network is designed so that an entry in one database can be cross-referenced against the others.
Pathogen axis
ANTIPSEUDOBASE (P. aeruginosa) and AntiStaphyBase (S. aureus) are the focused single-pathogen nodes; AntiESKAPE db unifies them within the full ESKAPE panel.
Resource axis
MED-ALGAE-BIOMOL feeds the pathogen databases with marine-derived peptides and metabolites — turning a bioresource catalogue into antimicrobial leads.
Shared standard
Common identifiers, curation rules and physicochemical descriptors make it straightforward to trace a molecule across all four resources.
